Stencil Moderno (°BLEK°)

Now I want to leave a little culture on the stencil which is a painting technique, which uses a template that is placed on a surface to paint on it so that the parties will "hollow" colored.

To find the first stencil must go back to the cave paintings of the caves, many of the works were made by cave found this technique to apply paint blown onto a mold resting on the rock. The most known are the silhouettes of hands found in caves dating from 22,000 years ago. But where the stencil-graffiti regained the importance it has today, was in the hands of Blek Le Rat (Rat Blek), a Parisian who after learning the technique of "pochoir" at the School of Fine Arts and influenced by the stencil Musollini propaganda, plasma in the streets of Paris his work.

Blek Le Rat drew with this technique: battle tanks, rats, human figures ... throughout the city. The fame comes when he exhibited his work in the "Centre Pompidou", by the year 1983. In the year 2009 will inaugurate the Centre Pompidou Metz. "I try to explain the finer things in life by unexpected images that distract and delight to pedestrians, removing them from their daily concerns. BLEK said that despite the reprisals from the police anti-graffiti, I will continue storming the streets in the darkness, because for me to bring the work directly to the streets is important part of the evolution of art. " In the beginning, Blek painted with Gerard, afterwards to do with Jerome Mesnager, with whom he would jump to other European cities, and finally New York. Nemo also belongs to this old school. Today there are many who are influenced by the "French school" of stencil (pochoir): Shepard Fairey, Dave Kinsey, Nano4814, Gerardo Yepiz, Banksy ... I leave these pictures of the work of Blek le Rat, enjoy.
